Benefits of patch-burning to the livestock producer

Benefits of patch-burning to the livestock producer

I gave a presentation to the 2020 Nebraska Prescribed Fire Council meeting. A .pdf of this talk is available on GitHub.

The talk targets outcomes of patch-burning we’ve seen in North Dakota that directly benefit livestock production. This is the focus of “PBG 2.0” in which conservation grazing “does not negatively affect” livestock performance, but in fact the intentional use of fire in grazing systems directly supports livestock performance. The presentation includes recent analyses on data as fresh as fall 2020.
